The Holy Spirit Adds Believers
To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.
1 Corinthians 1:2

After introducing the writer, Paul revealed the recipients—the church of God. It was not just a few believers. It was a massive church. By the Day of Pentecost, there were 120 Christians, and from that point on it grew. On the first day, 3,000 got saved and were baptized. Then there were 5,000.

Imagine, the church grew like crazy without any programs, without any promotion. It was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit added to the church daily, as many as should be added.

What is cool about it is he talked about the church of God which was at Corinth. God was adding to the church around the world. The Apostles went out to preach salvation, people were getting saved, and the Holy Spirit was moving, even in the carnal city of Corinth.

Do you see, God is not limited? He can move in the most carnal hearts. The Holy Spirit will do a great work wherever we are sent. All God asks of us is to go and be messengers. He is not asking us to convert anyone. That is the work of the Holy Spirit.
He is asking us to go out and preach the message of salvation to a lost and dying world. He will do the real work. He will draw the sinner to Himself.

We are not responsible for conversion,
but we are responsible for contact.
